Alumni Legacy Scholarship



To provide scholarships to assist children of ETSU alumni. Entering freshmen and current undergraduates are eligible. Financial need is considered.





Artazn Scholarship



Preference will be given to Greene County High School graduates and Greene county residents who are employees of, or dependents of an employee of Artazn Products with at least one year of service. Candidates must have at least a 3.2 GPA and demonstrated financial need. Recipients must be enrolled full-time. The deadline is March 1.





Aubrey Hunter Jobe Scholarship



In memory of Aubrey Hunter Jobe, established by his family and friends. For entering Freshmen who are graduates of Northside High School, Roanoke County, VA. Selection is based on leadership, participation in school activities, and academics. The deadline is March 1.





Ben and Jeanne Greene Family



In memory of the Greene's son, Benny. For undergraduate and graduate students from Blount County, TN. A 2.8 GPA is required. Financial need is considered. The deadline is March 1.





Bill and Lynne Stamm Kovach Scholarship



For deserving and needy undergraduate students. Must demonstrate potential for academic success and have documented financial need. Incoming freshmen must have minimum 2.5 GPA and 24 ACT or 1160 SAT; currently enrolled students must have 3.0 GPA. The deadline is March 1.





Boyd S. Ray Scholarship



Scholarship for both undergraduate and graduate students who graduated from Johnson County (TN) High School. Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.





Brock Services/Tom & Doris Little Memorial Scholarship



For undergraduate students who are dependents of Brock Services Ltd. employees. Awards are made on a competitive basis.





Buford J. and Mary Jane Goldstein Scholarship



For undergraduate students with a minimum high school or college GPA of 2.5. Demonstrated financial need is required.





Challenge 2000 Manahan Scholarship



Awarded to entering freshmen. Minimum GPA of 3.5 and minimum ACT of 25 (or SAT score of 1200 on math and critical reading sections only). Evidence of leadership, participation in extra-curricular activities or community service will also be considered.





Charles and Martha Montgomery Scholarship



The Charles and Martha Montgomery Scholarship Endowment is awarded to full-time undergraduate or graduate students with a 2.7 minimum GPA. Preference is given to students from Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Western North Carolina, and Eastern Kentucky. Financial need is considered. The deadline is March 1.





Christina Clarke Memorial Scholarship



For undergraduate students who are residents of Unicoi County, TN and who are graduates of Unicoi County High School. Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required. Applicants must demonstrate their ability and commitment toward completing and graduating with an undergraduate degree.





Danea Taylor Walters Scholarship



To support students from the Bristol, TN and Bristol, VA area who previously attended The Boys and Girls Club of the Mountain Empire. Applicants shall be nominated by the respective directors of these organizations.





David Crockett High School Alumni Scholarship



This scholarship was established to assist graduates of David Crockett High School. Must be incoming freshman, with good academic record and demonstrate involvement both in school and the community.





Dr. Burgin E and Nell Jennings Dossett



For undergraduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants should demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to TN residents.





Dr. Eduardo Zayas-Bazan Scholarship



For students majoring or minoring in Spanish who are participating in a summer or semester study program in a Spanish speaking country. Applications should be submitted to the ETSU Scholarship Office.





Dr. Richard A. and Lois A. Manahan Family Scholarship



The purpose of this award is to provide scholarship assistance to Science Hill High School graduates. The endowment is established to honor Science Hill High School graduates, Jennifer Manahan Crigger (Class of 1984) and Eric Richard Manahan (Class of 1987).





Dr. S. Martin Bronson Memorial Carter County Scholarship



The Dr. S. Martin Bronson Memorial Carter County Scholarship provides assistance to undergraduate students who are graduates of public high schools situated in Carter County, TN and who are also dependents of teachers in the public schools located in Carter County, TN. Documented financial need will also be considered.





Dr. Sam L. and Carolee P. McKinstry Scholarship



This scholarship was established to provide assistance to deserving students who are preparing as undergraduate students at ETSU to attend and graduate from an ABA-accredited law school after completion of the undergraduate degree at ETSU.





Duncan I. Street Scholarship



In memory of Duncan I. Street, former Market President of Carter County Bank. To provide scholarship assistance to deserving undergraduate students who are graduates of Cloudland High School, Roan Mountain, TN. The deadline is March 1.





Earl B. Bolling Scholarship



For first-time freshmen who graduated from a high school in Elizabethton, TN or Carter County, TN. Recipients will be required to provide a letter of recommendation from their high school principal. Applicants must have at least a 3.5 high school GPA and a 25 ACT/1200 SAT.





Edde Family Scholarship



To provide scholarship assistance to deserving students from Grainger County, TN





Eddie J. Miller and William "Bill" J. Olwell Scholarship



For graduates of Hampton High School with demonstrated financial need. Minimum GPA of 2.5 for incoming freshmen and minimum GPA of 3.0 for currently enrolled undergraduate students.





Eddie Williams Jr. Memorial Rural Health Scholarship



Rising juniors and seniors with an interest in rural health issues may apply for this scholarship. A 500-word essay describing the applicant's interest in rural health issues will be required and should be submitted to the scholarship office in addition to the online application. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and be a resident of Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, or Western North Carolina. Recipients will be required to make at least one public presentation about their work/interest in rural health while receiving this scholarship. The deadline is March 1.





Edna Harrison Scholarship



For both undergraduate and graduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants should demonstrate good character and promise for future career and professional achievement.





Esther Elizabeth Whitaker Carder Memorial Scholarship



For undergraduate students with a minimum gpa of 3.0. Applicants must be a resident of one of the following counties: Sullivan, Carter, Greene, Hamblen, Hawkins, Johnson, Unicoi, Washington in TN; Lee, Scott, Washington in VA. Application deadline is March 1.





ETSU Blue & Gold Scholarship



ETSU Blue and Gold is a competitive award of $1000 for the freshmen year. The scholarship is renewable for 1 additional year as long as the recipient remains eligible for a Hope Scholarship. Recipients are not eligible for any other ETSU scholarship. Students must exhibit some, but not great, financial need.





ETSU Family Scholarship



For undergraduate students who are dependents of full-time, permanent ETSU employees. Financial need will be considered.





ETSU Re-Entry Scholarship



Re-Entry Scholarship; undergraduate students who are reentering the education process. Demonstrated financial need is required. Applicants should have significant family care-taking responsibilities. Have completed one year of college course work successfully.





Faculty Memorial



This scholarship is available to TN and border county residents who are first time freshmen, have an ACT score of 25 (or an SAT score of 1200 on the Math and Critical Reading sections only), and a high school GPA of at least 3.5. Eligibility for the scholarship is based on 6th semester high school GPA and ACT/SAT scores earned.





First Horizon Scholarship



For employee's dependents of First Horizon Bank. High school students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and 21 ACT or 1060 SAT. The deadline is March 1.





George H. Garrett Scholarship



For first-time freshmen from the Tri-Cities area. Documented financial need is required. Applicants should demonstrate ability, character and scholastic performance.





George S. Brown Scholarship



For undergraduate students who graduated from a high school located in Carter County. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required. Documented financial need is also required.





Giles W. Morrill Memorial Scholarships



For undergraduate students who are residents of Unicoi County. Preference will be given to residents of Flag Pond, Rocky Ford, Shallow Ford and the south end of Sandy Bottom up to Sam's Gap. Applicants must demonstrated financial need. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.





Greene County/Greeneville



Awarded to rising juniors or seniors with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applicants must be residents of Greene County and preference will be given to students who are enrolled in, or have completed previous coursework at the ETSU Greeneville Center. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need. The deadline is March 1.





Harry O. Fine



For entering freshmen who are Elizabethton High School graduates. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and have participated in interscholastic athletics for at least three years or been a cheerleader for two years. Financial need is considered. The deadline is March 1.





Heritage Federal Scholarship



Awarded to undergraduate and graduate students. A 2.5 GPA is required. The priorities in awarding the scholarship will be to students who reside in the Tri-Cities area who are enrolled in the College of Business and Technology.





Inspire Scholarship



Scholarship for new freshmen who are Tennessee residents and who qualify for the Aspire portion of the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship Program. The scholarship award is the cost of a room in the Inspire Living and Learning Community in Clement Hall.





J. C. Kensinger Scholarship



For residents of Hawkins County, TN, who graduated from a high school in Hawkins County. For entering freshmen, currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students. A GPA of 3.0 is required. The deadline is March 1.





Jack and Sally Church Scholarship



This scholarship is for undergraduate students in good academic standing and of good moral character. Demonstrated financial need is required. Preference will be given to students from Carter and Johnson counties. The deadline is March 1.





James B. and Nellie B. Brinkley Scholarship



Brinkley Scholarships are awarded to current students and 1st time freshmen, with minimum 3.0 GPA.





James Broach Scholarship



Awarded to Tennessee residents enrolled full time in a bachelor's degree program. Applicants must apply for federal financial aid programs, have unmet need, qualify for student loans, and not receive any federal or state grant. A minimum 3.5 high school GPA and a minimum 26 ACT (or 1240 SAT) is required for entering freshman applicants. Enrolled students must have a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA. Applicants for renewal must have a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA. The deadline is March 1.





James H. Quillen - Graduate Scholarship



A scholarship established by the late Congressman James H. ("Jimmy") Quillen to provide financial assistance to deserving graduate students. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. Preference will be given to applicants from the following counties in Tennessee: Carter, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Knox, Sevier, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington. Students must have documented financial need. Applicants must demonstrate achievement in one or more of these areas: scholastic endeavors, school and community leadership, volunteer services and activities, other extracurricular activities or work experience.





James H. Quillen - Undergraduate Scholarship



A scholarship established by the late Congressman James H. ("Jimmy") Quillen to provide financial assistance to deserving undergraduate students. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. Preference will be given to applicants from the following counties in Tennessee: Carter, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Knox, Sevier, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington. Students must have documented financial need. Applicants must demonstrate achievement in one or more of these areas: scholastic endeavors, school and community leadership, volunteer services and activities, other extracurricular activities or work experience.





John R. Cunningham Scholarship



This scholarship was established in memory of John R. Cunningham to assist graduates from a Johnson County, TN high school with a first preference to incoming freshmen with a declared major in Criminal Justice, second preference to a student with a major in the College of Arts and Sciences. The award is not renewable.





John R. Diehl Jr. Scholarship



Awarded to students with demonstrated financial need from Holston Home for Children, David Crockett High School, and any other Washington County high school. Applicants must have a 2.0 GPA and a strong desire to complete their education. The deadline is March 1.





Johnson City Lion's Club Memorial



For disabled students, primarily those with a vision or hearing disability, or a junior, senior, or a graduate student preparing for a career working with the disabled. The deadline is March 1.





Johnson City Medical Staff Scholarship



For undergraduate students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants must be a dependent of a physician who currently holds privileges to practice medicine at JCMC, an allied health professional including but not limited to physician's assistants, nurses, etc., or any other staff or employees employed by Ballad at JCMC.





Kathleen Ikenberry Memorial Scholarship



For undergraduate students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students who are active in the ETSU ROTC program or who participate as student athletes in intercollegiate sports with a priority to ETSU cheerleaders.





Lathan Allen Leonard and Phillip Earl Wilson Scholarship



Scholarship for both current students and incoming freshmen with minimum 3.0 GPA and documented financial need. Priority given to 1st generation college student and those who have participated in an Upward Bound program.





Lawrence & Chouree Counts Scholarship



Entering freshmen with documented financial need.





Lyle Family Re-entry Scholarship



Applicants must be undergraduate students with at least 24 credit hours and at least a 2.5 GPA. Demonstrated financial need is required. Must be a resident of Carter, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi or Washington Counties in Tennessee. Applicants should have significant family care-taking responsibilities or work-related responsibilities to support his or her family and be re-entering the higher education process in order to complete an undergraduate degree.





Margaret Campbell Flanary Scholarship



Established in 1974 by an endowment from the estate of Mrs. Flanary. For deserving students from Sullivan and Washington Counties, TN. Demonstrated financial need is required. The deadline is March 1.





Martin and Louise Smith Scholarship for Physically Challenged Students



This endowment was established to support students working to achieve their degree while coping with physical challenges. Students must be undergraduate students (full-time or part-time) and have documented financial need. They must have a physical challenge documented through the Office of Disability Services at ETSU.





Minifibers Inc. Scholarship



Applicants must be residents of Southwest Virginia or Northeast Tennessee with a minimum high school or college GPA of 2.5 and plans and potential for graduating from ETSU. The deadline is March 1.





Minnie Morgan Bryson Scholarship



To provide scholarship assistance to deserving students who graduated from a public high school in Bradley or Polk County, TN. Entering freshmen, transfer students, currently enrolled students and non-traditional students are eligible to be considered. Preference given to first generation college students.





Mountain City Rotary Club Scholarship



For graduates of Johnson County High School (with at least two years of attendance at the school) with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Applicants must demonstrate potential for successfully completing college and having a successful career. The deadline is March 1.





Nancy Vaughn Williams Scholarship



This scholarship is available for incoming freshmen or currently enrolled undergraduate students with a 2.8 GPA minimum and demonstrated financial need. The deadline is March 1.





Non-traditional Student Scholarship



This scholarship is for students other than typical freshmen entering college directly from high school and who are a minimum of age 21. Students should be upgrading career skills on a part-time or full-time basis. Demonstrated financial need is required. The deadline is March 1.





North American Rayon Corporation Scholarship



Priority will be given to students living in Carter County, TN. Students must have a 2.8 GPA and have demonstrated financial need. The deadline is March 1.





Public Service Corps Scholarship



Scholarship is for in-coming out-of-state freshmen who demonstrate a commitment to public service. Recipients will contribute 40 hours of community service (primarily in the Governor's Birth to Books Foundation) each semester in return for the scholarship. Scholarship award is in the amount of out-of-state tuition, leaving recipients to pay only in-state tuition/fees. Students participating in another program that covers out-of-state tuition (including but not limited to: Academic Common Market, Border-County status, Buc Hero, Creative Arts Scholarships, George L. Carter Scholarship, University Honors, Fine and Performing Arts or Honors-In-Discipline Program) are not eligible.





Ralph and Cornelia Clarke Memorial Non-Traditional Scholarship



This scholarship is for a non-traditional student who is late in beginning college or who is returning to or enrolling at ETSU to complete a degree. The student must show demonstrated financial need as will as demonstrated ability and commitment to complete an undergraduate degree. The deadline is March 1.





Roy T. Campbell Scholarship



For undergraduate students from Cocke County, TN, with a minimum 2.5 overall GPA. Applicants must be a graduate of a high school located in Cocke County. Financial need is considered. The deadline is March 1.





Scott C. Dulebohn MD Scholarship



Current undergraduates, graduates, 1st time freshmen, transfers, and second degree students. Students must be in one of the Academic Health Sciences college.





Scott Sullivan Disabilities Services Scholarship



The Scott Sullivan Scholarship for Disability Services is intended to provide scholarship assistance to deserving, disabled students enrolled at ETSU. Applicants must be undergraduate students who have a disability documented through the Office of Disability Services at ETSU. Documented financial need is also required.





Scotty L. Snyder Scholarship



For spouses or dependent children of full-time permanent, retired, or deceased employees of East Tennessee State University. Financial need is considered. The deadline is March 1.





Sheela V. Sakhare Scholarship



For Freshman, Transfer Students, and Current Undergraduates with Financial Need.





Stanley R Bunn



Established in memory of Stanley Bunn to provide financial assistance to students with financial need that would otherwise prevent them from attending ETSU. Applicants should demonstrate achievement in school or community leadership.





Street Family Scholarship



For entering freshmen and transfer students from the Southwest Virginia counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Washington, and Wise. Based on financial need and academic ability. The deadline is March 1.





Susan Phillips Knoll Kappa Delta Memorial Scholarship



e student must be an active member of the Kappa Delta Sorority and enrolled at ETSU full-time. They must have a minimum 3.0 GPA with a demonstrative commitment to community service. Financial need is considered.





Tetrick-Oakley Scholarship



Established by Heritage Family Funeral Homes with priority to dependents of employees of Tetrick-Oakley Funeral Homes and residents of their service areas. A minimum GPA of 2.8 is required and financial need is considered. The deadline is March 1.





Theresa K. & Anthony B. Lee Scholarship



For undergraduates from East Tennessee or Southern West Virginia who are pursuing a major or minor in Political Science or History. Must demonstrate financial need.





Thomas Deakins Scholarship



Awarded to undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need and a minimum 2.5 high school or college GPA. Graduates of West Ridge High School or Sullivan East High School majoring in the education field.





Wiley and Clara Estep Memorial Scholarship



For first semester juniors who are graduates of a Johnson County, TN or a Carter County, TN, public high school. Selection is based primarily on financial need.
